  • Encouraging athletes to manage tim

Participating Majorettes can enter the sport from a young age, and continue into the Tertiary section. Cheerleader athletes can also commence from an early age and can participate in the Tertiary Section.

Interested parties (not only young people) can get involved in various aspects of the sport:

  • Participants / Athletes
  • Coaching / Training
  • Adjudicating
  • Administration

Our sport further gives athletes the opportunity to partake in Mass skill related events as well as for Individual athletes, who are given the opportunity to obtain their Provincial and National Colours. The sport does not need to be associated with major financial implications.

We have had both Majorette and Cheerleading teams who compete internationally. This exposure had added immense value to the relevant Coaches and athletes. We have been most privileged in obtaining Protea Colours for these team members from SASCOC

SAMCA is also proud to be affiliated to numerous International Bodies which cover aspects of our sport: These include:

  • Cheerleading: SAMCA is affiliated to the International Cheerleading Union (ICU)
  • Baton Twirling – SAMCA has recently been as an affiliated member to the World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF);
  • Majorettes – SAMCA is affiliated to both the American and Australian Dance Drill Federations
